    Of all the gas generator replacements this is the best by a long shot! The fact that the batteries are user replaceable makes it means you could go all day if you have a way to charge at basecamp. Also I really love that y'all are offering a Sodium Ion, its extremely green tech. The only thing I think this unit lacks is a solar charger which y'all could make a stand alone kit for. Something for the future would be a bigger unit that can take 2-4 batteries and would output a 240v and a bates connector. plus a multi battery charger on 240 that works using a dryer outlet.

      Right on! This is the first iteration of the Moxie Solo, so we definitely have more for it in the future. Love the suggestions, I will pass them along as well. Keep on rockin'! 🙌🙌

    How about not make the snap plate .3lb when it could be just an x shape. Nobody will stack 9 of these. Less weight the better. You make the pack under a lb then you added .3lb for the plate. Come on engineers!

    If I used the ptap cable to power my camera with the link, do I use the stock battery at the same time or just the battery pack?

    • @CoreSWX
      @CoreSWX Місяць тому

      With the BlackMagic camera , I don't believe you need the stock battery in there, when using the P-tap to two pin cable, but I would highly recommend keeping a stock one in there for hotswapping of Links or in case you get disconnected or the Link battery dies out. Then your camera will stay on and you won't have any power interruption. If you are using the dummy battery cable, obviously you can only have one or the other in the camera, so you couldn't do that. So keep the stock battery in there all the time when possible for backup.

    can the Sony Venice gen 1s power supply handle both 4 pin power and a v mount battery at the same time ? on its native power supply.

    • @CoreSWX
      @CoreSWX Місяць тому

      Hello. Yeah, it can take both on its own, but then you are only running low voltage. Our plate allows you to always supply the Venice with high voltage to be more efficient. The camera would rather receive HV, but can work in LV mode as well. Our plate is designed to send the power the camera prefers.

    We shoot a travel show where we review bathrooms and we often have shoots at museums or larger venues where we're in and out really fast. We don't have time to run cabling and worry about cable management. We also shoot outside often without access to power. We can't run loud generators at these locations so this would be a game changer.

    We live in North Dakota. It actually gets to 40 degrees below zero in January, and most batteries just can’t handle it. We would use the Moxie solo to keep the lights on when we're shooting in remote winter locations using the Kodiak to power our tungsten fresnels. LED softlights are nice, but for shooting beautiful faces, nothing beats traditional tungsten fresnels.

      In comparison to other generators, it is much smaller and lighter. You can't pick up most of the others ones and place it in the back of an SUV.

    Please make a cable for the Canon dummy battery the DR-E6C DC Coupler for EOS R5 C. So it can power the Canon R5c for 8k60 with lens control. No one else in the world has made a solution for that. For me personally my ideal would be to mount the battery on my belt and to have a coiled between my belt and the camera. I personally want to leave my camera as light weight as possible to be able to shoot both stills and video easily and quickly. I don't want a cage or a big rig as it makes shooting stills more akward and is wearing when shooting for hours hand held. I want light and nimble. I would probably secure the cable with a tether tools lever lock.

  • @marcusavanti902
    @marcusavanti902 2 місяці тому

    Power for the Canon R5c is a well known issue for 8k60 with lens control. Can you tell me if the auto power delivery would work with the Canon DR-E6C DC Coupler for EOS R5 C ? No one has come up with an easy solution for using a dummy battery and a Vmount battery.

    In combination with efficient LED we can say goodbye to to dirty gas and diesel power plants. I see several Moxies distributed throughout the set powering 1200 to 2400w LED lights.

    Shot a feature in the woods recently. We absolutely wouldn't have to run long cabling and especially the sound department freaking out, if we had the MoXIE Solo.

  • @TimButt2
    @TimButt2 2 місяці тому

    Wow! Would have totally used the MoXIE Solo for a 4-day location shoot last year for an old building without power. Where we ran a generator for all 4-days last year while shooting a feature we could have used this MoXIE instead. This would have been more ideal solution because we had to run the generator outside the building that didn't have power at a far distance due to the noise, and run long extension cables to set. But this would have solved that noise issue and ran the power shorter distance. Not only that we could have easily daisy chained a few together for extended battery life it sounds like, but charging the batteries in 30-minutes sounds incredible! That means we could have had a runner going off site to a nearby production location with power to charge while we continued to shoot with the MoXIE. That would have been amazing! I can see a lot of different situations where we could use this on shoots. I have a cabin in the woods without power I've always wanted to shoot at. And, this would be a great eco friendly solution to shooting at that cabin and lighting up shots. The possibilities are endless with this solution!

    Amazing! I would use the MoXIE everywhere, but especially out in the field. It would allow for quick setup and I wouldn't have to worry about the issues an conventional gas generator would present on location.

    Why are these so thick compared to the hyper core neos slim ? Is there any difference in run time?

    • @CoreSWX
      @CoreSWX 3 місяці тому

      Hello @scooteractual The runtimes will be pretty similar if you are speaking about the 98wh pack. Since both are 98wh, they will be pretty close. These are just two different style batteries. The slims are a normal V-mount, where the Nano Micros are a Micro V-mount. For example, the Nano X will go directly on the back of a Komodo X without the help of any plate, where the slim wouldn't fit on a micro V-mount. It would need the help of a plate to get to the proper size. Different batteries for different situations/setups. The Slims are pretty popular among Steadicam users as well since the are so flat and the weight is equally distributed.

Even with the idea of one snap battery as the base of the rig and then just snap another one as the rotating battery. The flexibility is amazing.
